War In Paradise: IPOB Members, Nigerians' Reaction To Mazi Nnamdi Kanu's Denial Of Being A Member Of IPOB

On Tuesday, 18th of January, 2022, was the continuation of the trial of the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra,

Nnamdi Kanu in the Federal High Court, Abuja.  The Federal Government had laid charges of treason against Nnamdi Kanu, including 15 fresh charges which were filed on Monday.

However, the case continued yesterday 19th January, 2022; during the trial,  Shuaib Labaran, the lead counsel to the Federal Government accused Mazi Nnamdi Kanu of being a member of the proscribed IPOB. Nnamdi Kanu the accused, denied membership to IPOB and pleaded not guilty to all the charges against him. Labaran revealed this while addressing Journalists outside the court.

According to him:“One of the charges suggesting that the defendant, Nnamdi Kanu is a member of IPOB and he vehemently denied being a member of IPOB. That is very curious and we urge Nigerians to see us through how we are going to prove all those charges against the defendant in no time to come.”

Nevertheless, Nigerians via social media have reacted towards the Shuaib Labaran alleged claim that Nnamdi Kanu denied his membership to the group (IPOB).
