The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has had his request to the U.S Ambassador in Nigeria and to the United Kingdom High Commissioner, rejected on frivolous ground.
The embattled Biafra Nation activist, Mazi Kanu who faces seven count charges before Justice Binta Nyako Federal High Court Abuja, wrote to the United States of America ambassador in Nigeria, Mary Beth Leonard to request that the U.S ambassador send delegates that will monitor his court trial so as to ensure fairness and transparency in the trial.
Also, Mr. Kanu had written the United Kingdom High Commissioner to Nigeria,Catriona Laing, to make a similar request.
However, the Exola Tv understands that the U.K and U.S Governments have both rejected Mazi Kanu's request, giving different reasons.
The U.S Government cited restriction on public gatherings occasioned by Covid 19 as the reason it will not send delegates to monitor Kanu's trial.
The U.K Government on the other hand, stated that it does not usually monitor court trials of its nationals facing trial in another country.
