Former coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Gernot Rorh has taken a fresh dig at the team he was at the helm of its affair a few weeks ago before being sacked by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
Gernot Rorh while speaking in an interview noted that the Super Eagles of Nigeria do not have players playing at top teams in Europe; teams such as Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea or Liverpool.
He claimed that Wilfred Ndidi who players for Leicester City FC is not yet a top player as well as his countryman, Kelechi Iheanacho. He further claimed that the only player who players for a big European team is Victor Oshimhen who is currently not among the Super Eagles squad to face Egypt in an hour time.
"Nigeria don’t have these big stars like Jay-Jay Okocha, Nwankwo Kanu or Victor Ikpeba. [Wilfried] Ndidi isn’t yet a star; [Kelechi] Iheanacho not yet either.
"They don’t have any players in Liverpool, Manchester, Munich or Chelsea, which is the case for Senegal, Egypt, and Ivory Coast".
He said the current Super Eagles squad should not pretend to be at the same level with Algeria and Egypt who have top players at European teams.
“The biggest clubs are perhaps Leicester, or possibly Napoli with Victor Osimhen.

“When you don’t have the players in fantastic clubs, playing the semi-finals or quarter-finals of the Champions League all the time, you cannot pretend to be better than Algeria or Egypt.
“That is the question of football without stars. It is more collective football.”
