A Former Governor's Brother Arrested For Arms And Ammunition Supply To Bandits In Zamfara State While The Ex-governor Mounts Pressure For His Brother's Release




 A nephew to a former governor of Sokoto State, Alhaji Attahiru Bafarawa has been arrested and at present in the police custody  over his alleged supply of arms and ammunition as well as military uniform to bandits in  Zamfara state

The Suspect whose name is  given as Musa Mohammed Kamarawa, was arrested by the special technical squad of the Nigeria Police Force and being held in the Police Force headquarters in Abuja.

An unnamed source quoted by Sahara Reporters claim that the former governor of Sokoto State, Alhaji Attahiru whose nephew is the Suspect, has been pressuring for the release of the Suspect. The source disclosed further that the governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawalle threatened to report the ex-governor of Sokoto State to president Muhammadu Buhari if he continues to pressure for the release of his nephew.


"This is a relative of the former Governor of Sokoto, Attahiru Bafarawa caught by security agents as arms and military kits’ suppliers to bandits.

“He has been under detention with Force Headquarters for about a week. Bafarawa has been putting pressure for his release but they told him they can't release him since Matawalle is aware, that he will report them to the President", the unnamed source said.

Recall that last two weeks, Zamfara State Elders and Traditional Rulers accused the state authority of indiscriminate release of criminals arrested in the state without following legal procedure or rehabilitating them before being released into the community.

The Zamfara State Government despite the magnitude of such allegation, is yet to respond to it.
