Zamfara Elders And Traditional Rulers Betray The State Government, Leaks Top Secret To The Public

 

The Zamfara State Elders and Traditional Rulers in what is surprising to many, have accused the state government of "indiscriminate release of criminals" arrested by security forces without proper court trial.

The Zamfara State Elders and Traditional Rulers are concerned that notorious bandits arrested by security forces are indiscriminately freed into the community without any form of rehabilitation nor Punishment.

The State Governor, Bello Matawalle had in the past been accused of paying ransom to bandits for the release of kidnap victims. 

Zamfara State Government as well as the neighbouring states currently grappling with insecurity, has been accused of handling insecurity in the region, particularly banditry with kids' glove.

A popular United Kingdom based Nigerian lawyer, Bulama Bukarti has also spoken up about the recent accusation levied against the authority in Zamfara state.

Recall that earlier this month, the bandit leader, Turji Bello wrote a letter to the Nigerian leadership through the same Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawalle. The notorious bandit leader sought dialogue with traditional rulers as well as the Nigerian leadership necessary for the end of banditry in the region. 

Meanwhile, the Zamfara State Government is yet to respond to such heavy allegation made by the Zamfara State Elders and Traditional Rulers.
