A young Nigerian man attempted committing suicide in a yet to be identified branch of the United Bank for Africa, UBA after his life-saving was emptied from his UBA bank account.
It is reported that an unknown person had called him claiming to be an official of the UBA who want to help him rectify non-existing issue with his bank account. The unsuspecting young man provided some sensitive information about his account to the scammer.
Consequently, he received a debit alert of withdrawal from his bank account on his mobile phone. The young man who did not make the said withdrawal went to a UBA branch to lodge a complaint about the unauthorized withdrawal from a suspected scammer.

At the bank, he was told to obtain a court affidavit in respect to the unauthorized withdrawal. The frustrated young man having visited a court to obtain the required affidavit returned to the bank to tender it for the unauthorized withdrawal to be reverted. Sadly, he got another debit alert as the leftover in his account was withdrawn by the suspected scammer. The totality of his life saving in the sum of 450, 000 Naira was withdrawn.
Quietly, he left the bank hall and returned after some minutes with a rope to hang himself right in the bank hall.
