Twelve angry women who protested against the exclusion of their community from a road construction project in Bayelsa State, have been arraigned before a magistrate court for allegedly using juju to halt the road construction work.
The women who are from Agobiri community in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area (LGA) of Bayelsa State are facing two count charge of unlawful assembly and using diabolical means to disrupt 28km Oporoma-Yenagoa road construction project.

The the charge brought against them reads in part: "That you (the twelve accused) and others still at large on the same date and place in the aforesaid Magisterial District with intent to carry out a common purpose, did assemble in such a manner by blocking the ongoing Oporoma-Yenagoa road construction with sticks, plantain, juju and palm fronds".
The accused women pleaded not guilty to the charges and were granted bail in sum of 50,000 Naira each and sureties with landed property by Magistrate A.N. Asuku.
The case is slated for December 6th for continuation.
