Wahala: Cherubim And Seraphim Church Wades Into EndSARS, See What They Said

The Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church  Worldwide, has waded into the unforgettable EndSARS; a youth movement against police brutality which regrettably, resulted in the killing of unarmed Protesters by armed forces at Lekki Toll Gate, Lagos.

There have been commentaries against the proposed peace walk by the Lagos State Government; however, one of the most unresolved issues is the absence of Justice in the face of peace-walk proposal from the governor of Lagos State, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu.

Surprisingly, the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide, Yaba district, has taken a stance that is not in consonant with that of the majority of the Nigerian people.

Cherubim and Seraphim, rather than demand Justice for those who lost their lives in the October 20th, 2020 EndSARS protest cum massacre, enjoined the public to embrace Governor Sanwo-Olu's peace-walk and forget the "past".

Speaking at the 50th anniversary celebration of the denomination in Nigeria, was the immediate past rector of the Lagos State Polytechnic, Mr. Sogunro who noted thus:"The bottom line is that we must move forward as a nation, and we continue to learn every day. I believe that what happened during that EndSARS will never repeat itself. So many things, many infrastructures of government were destroyed".

He continued:

“I bet you if it had been other states, they would not get over it till thy kingdom come, but we want to appreciate the Lagos state government for rising up to that challenge. Lagos state government has been doing very well, as far as infrastructural development and listens to the masses.”

“So, the peace walk is the thing that everyone wants to embrace. What has happened has happened. We need to move on. Let us come together and forge ahead. I believe the government is reasoning in the right direction. So people should join hands with the government to make sure that we come together and build our country ourselves.”

Meanwhile, prominent Nigerians and Political gladiators in Lagos State have urged Governor Olusola Sanwo-Olu to forgo his proposed peace-walk. Recall that the State Government had in the wake of the EndSARS Massacre, constituted a Judicial Panel of Inquiry into the EndSARS Massacre and related cases of Police Brutality. However, there have been an unending acrimony between the state government and the panel members whose report attested to the alleged massacre of peaceful, armed protesters at the Lekki Toll Gate; this, inadvertently,  implicated some prominent Nigerians including the then Chief of Army Staff, Gen. Buratia as well as the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, President Buhari.

To shy away from the consequences of the indictment by the Panel's report, the Lagos State Government described the report as "baseless", alleging that the panel members were compromised.
