Interestingly, the United Nations Office on Drug and Crime(UNODC) in its reports on drug abuse in Nigeria, released on the 24th of June 2021, stated that there were  14.3 million drug users out of which 3 million people suffered from drug use disorder.

" in Nigeria at that time there were around 14.3 million drug users of which close to 3 million suffered from a drug use disorder", the reports says.

It's important to know that it's suicidal to play ignorance of "drug use risk". Doing the right thing (following the prescription) makes the drugs medicinal but flouting the prescriptions  on the other hand is suicidal.

"Lower perception of drug use risks has been linked to higher rates of drug use, and the findings of UNODC’s 2021 World Drug Report highlight the need to close the gap between perception and reality to educate young people and safeguard public health,” said UNODC Executive Director Ghada Waly.
