REAL MADRID EYE NDIDI AS CASEMERO REPLACEMENT

Old Trafford faithfuls are of a strong opinion that for Manchester United to challenge for the Premier League title and to also be a force to be reckoned with in Europe, the Devils need a ball winner in the middle of the pack and their focus is on no other player than Super Eagles and Leicester City enforcer- Wilfred Ndidi.

Interestingly, Real Madrid are also looking at the direction of the Nigerian to compliment the effort of their sole Brazilian holding midfielder, Casemiro. The big question  however remains whether Ndidi would want to leave a place where he is seen as a cult hero for a big European club where he would need to establish himself. Among the King  Power Stadium faithfuls, Wilfred Ndidi is a cult hero, and to Leicester City Manager, Brendan Rodgers, the midfield enforcer is indispensable except for injury, the Nigerian  is a sure starter and statistics have proven that he is the Foxes most important player in the last two years. Ndidi, 24, has been a key player for the Foxes since his arrival from Genk in January 2017, making 193 appearances in all competitions, including 17 outings during the 2021 -22 campaign.Manchester United have previously been credited with an interest in the Nigeria international, who has a contract at the King Power Stadium until June 2024.

However, according to El Nacional, Real Madrid are the favourites to sign the midfielder amid suggestions that he is keen to leave the Foxes due to their struggles during  the 2021-22 campaign. The report claims that Los Blancos are looking for a long-term replacement for Casemiro, who could be allowed to join Chelsea for the right price during next summer's transfer window. Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is believed to be a keen admirer of Ndidi, having watched the Nigerian on a regular basis during his  time in charge of Everton.

What will definitely determine Ndidi’s stay at the King Power Stadium beyond next season is whether the midfielder is indeed ready for new challenge and how well the Foxes can ward off predators. Will he remain a big fish in a Small Pond or move to Madrid for a new challenge?  Let us know in the comments section.
