Next Cash And Carry Fire Incident, the True Story

popular supermarket, Next Cash and Carry in Jahi District, Abuja, was razed by inferno on 26th of December, 2021.

The popular supermarket owned by the former governor of Anambra State and vice-presidential candidate of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 presidential election, was gutted on the Boxing day.

The inferno whose cause is yet to be  ascertained stirred up reactions from Nigerians as videos of people carting away goods from the burning supermarket were in circulation.

Such looting in such a circumstance has become a thing that is characteristic of Nigerians who often perceived such a mishap as an opportunity to leverage.

However, the true story is that the Next Cash And Carry fire incident is an exception to such characteristic looting as wrongly publicized on the social media.

Those filmed carrying goods from the razing store in their hands and by trolleys were on a rescue mission; relocating the items from the store to a safe ground.
