Many Nigerian celebrities have reacted to Shatta Wale's statement. Popular Nigerian  DJ, BigN, who shared the video in which Shatta Wale insulted Nigerian musicians, said, “My dear shattawalenima, I watched this video more than once. I tried to see your point. We are not the enemy. You can’t blatantly say “Fu*K Nigerians” and think there won’t be any repercussions. We are not to blame that you are a local champion.

I’m a fan of your music. Your track with Beyonce is always on repeat in my car. No matter what is pissing you off, a man like you with a large fan base should be using it to promote peace and unity among Africans and the rest of the world. You should apologise for such a statement.”
