Ohafia women in Abia State, Nigeria, took to the street to protest against the heavy military presence in their land and the accompanying vices brought about by such unwarranted militarization of their community.
As an effort by Buhari's Government to tame the ever-increasing popularity and acceptance of Biafra Secessionists in the state, by deploying soldiers to several Igbo communities have reportedly been creating chaos rather than bring calmness to the already tensed atmosphere in the Igbo region.
The Ohafia women want the soldiers in their community, allegedly raping their girls, harassing their male children and generally, haunting them at their schools, to evacuate the community.
They claim that their wards can no longer go to schools for fear of being victimized by the soldiers whose unprofessionalism and hate for the Igbos is evident in their ongoing atrocities against their host Igbo communities.
