OFFICE SEX: Fun seeking DPO in trouble after losing pistol

The Lagos State Police Command has redeployed the Divisional Police Officer, DPO of Denton Police Station, in Ebute Metta.

The officer, Mr. Adegoke Atilade, lost his pistol after spending the night with his girlfriend and is now being probed.

Atilade, had invited one Jenifer Madueke to his office on Friday from where they spent a night together, but then discovered that his service pistol was missing after she left.

Madueke, who had denied stealing the pistol, was reportedly arrested on Saturday, September 11, by the DPO, and is currently being detained at the State Criminal Investigation Department in Yaba.

Spokesman of the Command, Adekunle Ajisebutu said the State Commissioner of Police Hakeem Odumosu had ordered the redeployment of the DPO, to pave the way for a fair investigation into the allegation of office sex and the missing pistol.

He assured that the Command would take appropriate action against anyone found culpable.

“In the interest of fairness and justice, the Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered an independent; thorough as well as unbiased investigation into the case,” he said.

“Members of the public are hereby assured that appropriate actions will be taken against anyone found culpable; at the conclusion of the ongoing investigation such that at the end, justice would have been served.

“Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police has directed immediate redeployment of the officer in the eye of the storm; so as to pave the way for a diligent and unbiased investigation.”


Lagos CP orders arrest of officer who killed teenager

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosun, has ordered that the erring police officer whose bullet killed 18-year-old Monsurat Ojuade at Ijeshatedo area of Lagos on Saturday be tried in the Orderly Room and charged to court after being dismissed.

In a statement signed by the Command’s spokesman, Adekunle Ajisebutu a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) on Sunday, said

“It has come to the knowledge of the Lagos State Police Command that one Monsurat Ojuade (female) aged 18, was hit by a stray bullet on the 11th September, 2021 when a team of detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti went on investigation activities to effect arrest of a robbery suspect in Ijeshatedo area of the State.

“Concerted efforts were made to save the life of the injured victim. She was immediately taken to the hospital for urgent medical attention but later died on the way to the hospital.

“The Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, regrets this unfortunate but avoidable incident and sincerely commiserates with the bereaved family in whose pain he shares in this moment of grief.

“This is therefore to inform the bereaved family, sympathizers and the general public that the erring Police officer who pulled the trigger has been identified and is currently being detained.

“The Commissioner of Police has directed that the said police officer should be tried and charged to court immediately after being dismissed from the Force. This, it is believed, will serve as deterrent to others who do not act professionally in the course of their duties.”
