Man lands in prison over sex romp with 16-year old girl

For allegedly sweet Tonguing a minor into having sexual intercourse with him in his apartment,  28-year old man, Christian Ugoya, has landed in  prison.

Ugoya, put himself in trouble in Lagos when he was caught in the act ,after he allegedly lured a 16-year old girl, engaged her in sex .

The incident happened at Yeside Street, Aguda area of Sururele, Lagos, where they reside.

The police alleged the suspect, Ugoya, lured the girl into his apartment, used words of mouth to convince her and engaged her in the romp.

However, the act leaked to the parents of the girl and she eventually revealed what happened. That prompted her parents to report to the Police in the area that the suspect defiled their daughter.

Ugoya was arrested and later transferred to the Gender Section of the Police Command for interrogation. And in the course of interrogation, he reportedly admitted he slept with the girl but with her consent.

The Police however, found him culpable because the girl is still a minor and subsequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence.

The Court did not take his plea and denied his bail as well after the prosecutor, DSP Kehinde Ajayi, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. A. Ajibade, ordered his remand in custody pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP while she adjourned the matter till 6th October, 2021, for mention.

It was  gathered that the matter may likely be transferred to the High Court if the DPP’s report finds him culpable and recommends his trial for the alleged offence over jurisdiction.

Lagos State Government Upgrades ‘Domestic, Sexual Violence Team’ To An  Agency

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has signed legislation transforming the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Response Team (DSVRT) into a full-blown agency.

He signed the legislation during the state’s Executive Council meeting in Ikeja, as the state dedicated the month of September to raising awareness on gender-based violence.

The governor and members of the state’s cabinet wore attire with purple shades to support the campaign against sexual violence.

The DSVRT legislation provides for the establishment of Sexual Offenders’ Register that would help the state efficiently tackle violations in the communities.

”Raising awareness about domestic and sexual violence is an important piece of working to end the cycle of violence.

”It is important to reiterate the state government’s zero tolerance to all forms of sexual and gender-based violence. We will not rest on our oars until the menace is reduced to the barest minimum in Lagos,” he said.

The governor then appointed Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi as the Executive Secretary of the new agency.

Vivour-Adeniyi was the coordinator of the response team before the legislation was signed into law.
